The University of Toronto’s School of Cities has accepted the Seaton Village Residents’ Association request to help create a vision for Vermont Square Park. The initiative will be a Multidisciplinary Urban Capstone Project (MUCP/IMUCP) which begins in September 2026 and finishes in April 2027.
While there is no capital budget assigned to this by the City, the initiative will help the SVRA understand what the community loves about the park, and what they’d like to see improved. We believe some funds will be released prior to the next officially scheduled review of Vermont Square Park, which is slated for 2035.
The official kick-off with U of T is September, an updated plan will be shared as soon as it is ready. We anticipate that there will be a few ways for the community to participate. In preparation for the official kick-off, SVRA is conducting an initial survey to ask people when they visit, what they do, what they like, and what they want to see improved. The survey results will be shared with the U of T in September.
