City Transportation Services staff have been reviewing parking arrangements should the former
Cars2Go program be reinstated. Their recommendations were approved by the City’s Infrastructure and Environment Committee of City Transportation Services in late September, and will be heard at City Council on October 8, 9 and 10.
The detailed report can be found at https://secure.toronto.ca/council/agenda-item.do?item=2025.IE24.2 where you can also find information on emailing comments or making depositions to City Council.
Briefly, the Revised Free-floating Car-share Program recommends City Council:
authorizes the designation of free-floating car-share service areas outside permit parking areas, and delegate final decision to Community Council on the establishment of free-floating car-share service areas.
approves the amendments to City of Toronto municipal codes to allow for an expanded free-floating car-share program outside of permit parking areas/streets, as outlined by Transportation Services.
authorizes the City Solicitor to effect Council's decision, and to make any necessary clarifications, refinements, minor modifications, technical amendments or bylaw amendments.
